Public safety is a necessary component of modern day life and takes many forms. Both community safety and individual safety rely on the Police Service for leadership and support. The Cobourg Police Service has adopted an aggressive program of community policing and are here to help the residents of the service area.

Feel free to call 905-372-6821 for safety help or 911 in an emergency.

This site provides some help by supplying an extensive collection of safety tips. Browse them and pick up some ideas regarding how you can protect yourself. In addition a page explaining the philosophy and practises of Crimestoppers is located here.

Preventing crime and maintaining safe communities is everyone's responsibility. By practicing personal and property safety tips, you can help reduce the incidents of crime and keep your community safe.

Be Aware:  At Home

Should you be confronted with anyone at your door that makes you feel uncomfortable, please ask them to leave and call the police. When confronted with someone at your door seeking to inspect your furnace, hot water tank, etc., ask them to leave you with the information and if you are interested, you can call back.

Before you do call back, check with your current Service provider to ensure that any deal they are offering in terms of rebates actually exists. If one company can access rebates, then any can!

Remember if a deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
