YIPI Students Return to Cobourg

The Cobourg Police Service’s summer Youth in Policing Initiative (YIPI) students will be welcoming approximately 40 YIPI students from Gananoque, Kingston and Peel Regional Police as part of a cooperative exchange program, taking place on August 8th, 2018.  This is the third annual event that Cobourg Police Service has hosted for our YIPI partners.

This event is a shared initiative in exploring the differences in urban and rural environments. .  Earlier in July, our YIPIs joined other YIPI students at the annual Ripple Effect Youth Forum hosted by Durham Regional Police Service to inspire eager youth to become ambassadors of change within their communities.  Later this month Cobourg students will be participating in a team-building initiative at an outdoor adventure park with Gananoque YIPI students.

The visiting students will participate in a tour of Victoria Hall, be exposed to cooperative paddling in dragon boats and also experience the Cobourg Beach area while participating in a team building activity in Victoria Park.

The Cobourg Police thank our community partners.  Thanks go to the Commodore of the Cobourg Yacht Club Mike Hubicki, Jeremy from the Cobourg Dragon Boat Canoe Club the Town of Cobourg Marina Staff, the Experience Ambassadors at Victoria Hall and Sydny from Bubble Balls Cobourg.
