The Cobourg police noticed a woman driving erratically in downtown Cobourg. The police pulled the vehicle over with suspected impairment.
On Sunday, June 9, 2019, at approximately 2:00 am, 32 year-old Brittany Ashby of Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with Operation while Impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to Section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code and Operation while Impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) Contrary to Section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. ASHBY was released from police custody scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in July of 2019.
According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada, crashes involving alcohol or drug-related impairment are the leading criminal cause of death in Canada — with an average of four people killed each day. Please don’t drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, it’s not worth it.
