From the 1st April 2019 – 7th of April 2019, the Cobourg Police Service responded to 235 incidents which included:
14 Theft calls, 10 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 9 Alarm calls, 2 Missing Person calls, 2 Family Disturbance calls, 15 Suspicious Person calls, 6 Fraud calls, 3 Unwanted Person calls, 2 Suspicious Vehicle calls, 6 Assault calls, and 1 Weapons call.
Here are some examples of calls for service for the week;
- Police received a call to attend a West end residence for a Domestic incident. Upon arrival police spoke with the complainant who advised that her significant other had been drinking and was being belligerent towards her. The male advised that he would leave for the night and was transported by police to another residence without further incident. No reported threats or assault.
- Police attended N.H.H. as a result of a hospital security guard being assaulted by an adult male visiting a patient and then interfering with her care. Police observed the vehicle the male left in and stopped it a short distance away. The male was identified and was detained while police spoke with the involved security guard. The security guard states he was not injured and did not call police himself and does not wish criminal charges. The male was to be trespassed from N.H.H. other than for medical care for himself.
- Sometime over the previous few days a customer of a Cobourg car dealership alleges tools were removed from his vehicle while it was parked on their lot. The dealership has reviewed their CCTV with negative results for suspect(s) so far.
- Police attended a Ball St. residence upon report of a male being assaulted by his 75 year old neighbor after a verbal argument. The male was not injured. Both parties live in adjacent apartments in the same building. The 75 year old male was arrested and released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking.
