From the 06 June, 2016,  to the 12 June, 2016  the Cobourg Police Service responded to 188 occurrences including: 4 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 5 Mental Health Calls, 8  Alarm Calls, 2 Domestic Dispute, 3 Harassment calls, 3  Neighbour Dispute calls, 3 Noise Complaint calls, 7 Theft calls, 2 Assault calls, 4 Fraud calls and 3 Threat calls.

Here are some examples of calls for service for the week:

June 06, 2016

  • Police responded to an address in Cobourg in regards to a female suffering from Mental Health issues. The female was apprehended and transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for examination. 
  • Police attended a 2 vehicle collision on King Street in Cobourg.  There were no injuries reported and 1 person was charged with following too close.  
  • Police were called to a local business in regards to a report of an assault. Upon further investigation it was determined that the fight was consensual and no charges were laid. 
  • Police were called to a local business in the Town of Cobourg in regards to a report of a Domestic Disturbance.  All parties had left prior to Police arrival. 

June 7, 2016

  • Police received a complaint of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist. Police are still investigating this incident. 
  • Police were called to a residence in the West end of Cobourg in regards to a complaint of a Domestic Dispute.  Upon further investigation it was determined that the couple had been involved in a verbal argument. No charges were laid. 
  • Police attended a private residence and apprehended an individual under the Mental Health Act. The individual was transported to Northumberland Hills Hospital for further assessment. 
  • Police were called to a local business to investigate a complaint of shoplifting.  Police are continuing to investigate this matter. 
  • Police were called to a private residence in regards to a Break and Enter. A quantity of jewelry was taken from the residence. The investigation is ongoing. 

June 8, 2016

  • Police were called to a report of a fight in progress at Donegan Park.  Prior to Police arrival, all parties had left the area. 
  • Police received a report of a suspicious person going door to door. Police attended the area of a private residence and located a female who was cautioned for her behaviour. 
  • Police received a report of a theft of jewelry from a private residence. There are no suspects in this matter. 
  • Police received a complaint of Mischief in regards to graffiti discovered in a washroom at the CCC. This investigation is ongoing. 

June 09, 2016

  • Police were called to a report of a break and enter into a garage at a private residence. It was discovered that the garage had been broken into but nothing had been taken. 
  • Police were called to University Avenue and Darcy Street in the Town of Cobourg in regards to a 2 vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision with minor injuries. 1 person was charged as a result of the accident. 
  • Police were called to a private residence in regards to a report of an assault at a private residence.  Police attempted to conduct an investigation, however all parties refused to cooperate with Police. 
  • Police received a complaint of a break and enter in progress into a local business.  2 males were arrested at the scene and charged in relation to the incident. 

June 10, 2016

  • Police received a complaint of a female breaching her probation. A warrant was issued for the females’ arrest. 
  • Police received a complaint of a motor vehicle collision on private property. No one was injured in the accident and no charges were laid.  
  • Police received a complaint of a theft of gas from a local gas station. This incident is currently still under investigation. 

June 11, 2016 

  • Police received a report of several youths drinking in a parking lot of a downtown business. Police attended the area and were unable to locate the youths in question. 
  • Police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the mall.  1 male was charged for driving under suspension. 
  • Police received a complaint of a 911 hang up from a private residence. Upon further investigation it was discovered that young children were playing with the phone. 

June 12, 2016

  • Police received a report of 3 intoxicated individuals walking down the middle of King Street in front of vehicles. The area was checked thoroughly and nobody could be located. 
  • Police attended a report of a motor vehicle collision in a private parking lot. No charges were laid in the accident. 
  • Police received a report of 2 bicycles taken from a private residence in the downtown area of Cobourg. This investigation is ongoing. Police have no suspects at this time.
