On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at approximately 3:30 pm, members of the Cobourg Police Criminal Investigations Branch, with the assistance of uniformed officers, arrested two people suspected of trafficking in a controlled substance, specifically cocaine, in the Town of Cobourg.
Subsequent to the arrest of both parties, a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant was executed at a downtown address and a quantity of suspected cocaine, weight scales, pipes and packaging was located in the residence.
32 year old Alisha Kincaid and 37 year old William Hadley of Cobourg were jointly charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in Schedule I Substance - Cocaine - Contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – Contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Both accused persons were held for a bail hearing and scheduled to appear later today at the Cobourg Courthouse.
