On Friday the 29th of May, 2015, police responded to the area of University Avenue East and Henry Street for a report of a deer that had been struck by a vehicle.  Police determined that the vehicle involved in the collision had left the scene while the injured deer was located in a nearby driveway.  The injured deer was in distress and had to be put down by officers on the scene.

Police are reminding motorists that it is an offence under the Highway Traffic Act to fail to report an accident to police where the damage to property apparently exceeds $1000.00.
