Mischief & Intoxicated in Public ArrestWarning - this news article expired on 2015-08-02. Information may no longer be accurate or applicable

At 2:25 am, 2 July 2015, the Cobourg Police Service arrested a male for Mischief and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.

While Police conducted patrols of the downtown Cobourg area, Police observed a male on King St West damaging property (breaking flower pots and throwing them to the ground) of a local business located on the street.  Police located the male at the intersection of King St W and Third St a short time later, the male was arrested for Mischief Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.  While Police dealt with the male, it was evident that the male was intoxicated by alcohol, the male was advised he was also under arrest for Being Intoxicated in a Public Place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

Police transported the male to the Cobourg Police Service Detention Centre where he will be held for his safety and then will be released once sober.

The accused male is identified as:

Maverick WOOD, 20 years old of Cobourg, is charged with Mischief Under $5000 and Being Intoxicated in a Public Place.

Maverick WOOD is to be released by a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking with conditions and a Summons to Defendant with a court date of the 5th of August 2015.
