Male Arrested for Voyeurism

In May of 2019, the Cobourg Police began an investigation into an allegation of Voyeurism.  It had been reported that a male had been recording the victim in various states of undress, while she was in his home, without her consent.

The Criminal Investigations Branch completed the investigation and gathered sufficient information to warrant an arrest. 

On Friday, June 7, 2019, at approximately 10:00am, the accused attended at the Cobourg Police Service where he was arrested. 

A 22 year old Cobourg resident was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  1. Voyeurism, Contrary to section 162(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
  2. Voyeurism, Contrary to section 162(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

The male was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located at 860 William Street on June 7, 2019.

In order to protect the identity and privacy of the victim, the accused’s name is not being released to the public.
