Male arrested for Uttering Threats

The Cobourg police responded to a business just north of the downtown core at approximately 1:15 am on May 31, 2019. Police received a report of a man currently inside the building uttering threats after he was accused of theft, and had allegedly displayed a hunting knife attached to the belt of his pants according to some witnesses.

As a result of police investigation, 59 year old Morley Callan of Caledonia was arrested and charged with Uttering Threats, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Theft under $5,000 and Possession of Property obtained by Crime Under $5,000 under the Criminal Code. Callan was released from Police Custody scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in July of 2019.
