On Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at approximately 6pm, Police were in the area of the outdoor rink/bus shelter on Albert St. performing a directed patrol as a result of community concerns.

Police observed 4 males who appeared to be consuming alcohol and smoking cigarettes in the public park area.  Police conducted an investigation and, as a result, disposed of numerous alcoholic beverages and charged the 4 males with 7 provincial offense tickets under the Liquor Licence Act and Smoke-free Ontario act.

The Cobourg Police Service are reminding people to refrain from drinking alcoholic beverages in and smoking in public parks in the Town of Cobourg.  The Cobourg Police will have 0 tolerance for these types of offenses.

Fines for these types of offenses can range from $65-$305.

Police will continue to monitor the situation.
