On Saturday, the 14th of November, 2015, at approximately 10:00 pm, police responded to a motor vehicle collision on University Avenue West in which a parked vehicle was struck by a moving vehicle.  Both vehicles received extensive damage as a result of the collision, however, no serious injuries occurred.

As a result of the police investigation, 27 year old Kasia Quigley of Colborne was charged with Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and Operate Motor Vehicle over 80 mgs of alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code.

Quigley was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of the 25th of November, 2105.

So far this year, Cobourg Police officers have laid 25 charges in relation to impaired driving due to alcohol or drug.  26 people were charged in 2014.

The Cobourg Police encourage everyone to call 9-1-1 if they believe a motorist is impaired by drugs or alcohol. We will respond to these calls promptly as they are considered to be crimes in progress.
