On Friday September 18 and Saturday September 19,2015, Cobourg Police conducted foot patrols at the Peace Park and the Cobourg Creek areas as part of compliance checks related to fishing in Cobourg waters.

As a result of Friday night’s foot patrols in the parks and around the creek areas, 12 Anglers were checked under the Ontario Fishing Regulations, six (6) warnings were issued that evening.

On Saturday, these checks resulted in twenty five (25) Anglers being checked for fishing licenses and as well all fish which had been caught.  These inspections resulted in three (3) persons being charged under the Liquor Licence Act for Open Liquor and four (4) persons were warned for Littering and Open Fires.
