Cobourg Police Service Investigates Death of Female Near

the Harbour Parking Lot.

(Cobourg, ON)- The Cobourg Police Service, with assistance from the Coroner’s office is currently on scene at the harbour parking lot at the marina in south Cobourg investigating a sudden death after the body of a female was discovered in the water floating a short distance from the shoreline.  Emergency services including police and the Northumberland County Paramedics were called and immediately rendered medical assistance.  The female was transported to hospital by paramedics and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The area where the body was located will be released by police in the very near future.  The cause of death will be determined later by post mortem.  The death is not considered suspicious at this time and there are no public safety concerns.  The name of the deceased female will not be released to respect the privacy of the family.

The Cobourg Police Service continues to actively seek information from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of discovery.
