Joint Forces Operation to target wanted persons and those breaching court orders in Northumberland County

(NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police, the Port Hope Police Service, the Cobourg Police Service and Probation and Parole are targeting wanted persons and persons not complying with court ordered conditions in Northumberland County.

Teams of Investigators from the three police services along with Probation and Parole are working together in a joint initiative to locate and arrest these offenders for the week of April 20th to April 24th. Often wanted persons will change jurisdictions in order to evade law enforcement and commit further offences in order to remain under the radar.

According to Statistics Canada, crime has many consequences, not only for its victims and their relatives and friends, but also for society as a whole. Northumberland County is a safe place to live and all three police services are working together to maintain that level of safety.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122, the Port Hope Police Service at 905-885-8123, the Cobourg Police Service at 905-372-2243 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
