May 15 to 21 has been designated as Police Week in Ontario. Police Week started in 1970 and it is observed every year in May to coincide with Peace Officers Memorial Day, which is recognized internationally on May 15.
This year’s theme, Discover Policing for Safer Communities, provides an opportunity for communities to discover the many ways police are working to keep their community safe. All citizens are asked to take an active role in helping create a safer community. Finally, police services are encouraged to use Police Week to reach out to people from all walks of life and ask them to consider a rewarding and fulfilling career in law enforcement, both as sworn and civilian members of police organizations.
The Cobourg Police Service is pleased to present the 2015-2017 Business Plan!
I am proud to be a member of this excellent organization and to lead a group of talented men and women who each day strive to keep our town a safe place to live, work and play.
As we continue to strengthen existing relationships and develop new community partnerships, you as a valued member of our community, will play a vital role in ensuring the Town of Cobourg remains as safe tomorrow as it is today.
