Cobourg police were called to a business in the northwest end for a report of a theft in progress on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at approximately 1:00 pm. 

Once Cobourg police arrived on scene one man was arrested and another man who left the scene was stopped and arrested on Highway 401. After further investigation, police determined that these men were also responsible for theft from the same business on Sunday, June 16, 2019.

61 year-old Mississauga resident Stefan Dolinski was charged with:

  1. Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code x2
  2. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code

Dolinski is held for a Bail hearing later today.

62 year-old Mississauga resident Jan Jablonski was charged with:

  1.  Theft Under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code x2

Jablonski was released on scene with a future court date in July but the additional charge of theft under will be added at a future court date.

It is believed that there may be more occurrences involving these two men in other jurisdictions. Other police services have been contacted to follow up on similar outstanding thefts.
