Uniform Patrol

The Cobourg Police Services is divided, for operational efficiency, into four platoons. This ensures that coverage of the service area is consistent and uniform.
Patrol In Action
The image to the left demonstrates a unit in action, handling a detainee with sufficient restraint. This kind of activity ensures safety among our communities.

Each platoon consists of five (5) officers, one Sergeant and four officers, they patrol using three cruisers. The specialized duties of each platoon are standardized and consist of:
    

  • A scene of crimes officer
    •     
  • An 'intoxilizer' officer
    •     
  • A level 2 accident reconstruction officer


    • Each platoon rotates around a duty roster and police service is guaranteed 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
