On Monday, July 12 at 4:05 p.m., two vehicles were travelling westbound on County Road 2 when the lead vehicle slowed as she approached traffic stopped for a red light at New Amherst Boulevard.
A van following her was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the first vehicle.
The 53 year old Cobourg man driving the trailing vehicle has been charged with following too closely.
The woman in the car that was struck was taken to hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries.
Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
Two vehicles collided on Division Street in front of Wimpy’s Diner on Thursday afternoon, July 8, at 3:40 p.m.
One vehicle was travelling northbound on Division Street and attempted to turn left into the restaurant’s parking lot but was struck by a southbound vehicle. The driver and a passenger in the vehicle turning were taken to hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are unknown. The driver, a 49 year old female from New Jersey, was also charged with making an unsafe turn.
Store security staff at Zellers arrested a woman on Thursday, July 8 at 3:00 p.m., after watching her put several items in her purse and pocket and leave the store without paying for them.
Police continued the investigation and charged the 64 year old Port Hope woman with theft under $5,000.00 and possession of stolen property.
The stolen property amounted to a chocolate bar and two Air-Wick refills. The total value of the items was $10.58.
