Cobourg Police have charged a 17 year old Baltimore man with failing to report a motor vehicle collision after he was seen backing into a parked car and leaving the scene.
The incident occurred in the parking lot at Northumberland Mall in front of the Metro Store on Monday, January 30 at 9:10 a.m.
A member of public witnessed the collision and wrote down the licence number of the fleeing vehicle which was subsequently turned over to the victim and then police.
The Northumberland Christian School on Danforth Road has reported to Cobourg Police the theft of two-red road-hockey nets from their property sometime since Friday, January 27. They are worth $100.00 each.
The Cobourg Police Service is continuing to assist the Coroner’s office with a death investigation.
On Thursday January 20th, 2012, shortly after 2100 hours, emergency services were called to a Swayne street residence where a 29 year old female was found deceased.
A post mortem examination was held in Toronto on Saturday January 21st. The cause of death has not been determined pending toxicology results.

The intersection of Strathy Road and Depalma Drive was the scene of a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, January 17 at 4:15 p.m.
Both vehicles were travelling on Depalma Drive, one eastbound and one westbound. The eastbound car was travelling straight through the intersection when the westbound vehicle turned left and they collided in the intersection.
The driver of the eastbound car, a 52 year old Harwood man, was taken to hospital by ambulance with unknown injuries.
The 45 year old female driver of the turning vehicle resides in Trenton. She was not hurt however she has been charged with making an unsafe turn.
On Saturday, January 14 around noon hour, Cobourg Police were called to Zeller’s in response to an arrest of a shoplifter made by store staff.
Once the officer arrived, he was told that store security had observed a man put a bottle of Aqua Velva shaving liquid in his coat pocket and proceed into the washroom. He was followed by a male store security officer who occupied an adjacent booth and heard the suspect drinking.
The suspect left the store moments later without offering to pay for any items and was stopped by security.
Police found the accused had in fact three bottles of Aqua Velva, two part bottles and one full bottle.
Because of the contents consumed, the accused was taken to hospital by police and later released back into police custody.
The 60 year old Roseneath man has been charged with theft and possession of stolen property under $5,000.00. Each bottle of the shaving product cost $3.49.
