Cobourg police investigated two rear-end collisions on Friday, August 27.
The first collision involved a motorcycle and car at 9:40 a.m., at the intersection of Division Street and Densmore Road.
Both vehicles were northbound. The car was stopped because of a red light and the motorcycle approaching from the rear ran into the back of the car.
No one was hurt and both vehicles were driven from the scene. The driver of the motorcycle, a 70 year old Cobourg man, has been charged with following too close.
The second crash occurred at 3:27 p.m., on University Avenue just west of Division Street.
In this case, a vehicle was parked on University Avenue facing east when it was struck in the rear by another eastbound vehicle.
Both vehicles had minor damage; however the driver of the trailing vehicle, a 17 year old Hamilton Township male teen, was also charged with following too closely.
A two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, August 25 at 12:30 p.m., temporarily blocked the intersection of Heath and William Streets.
A vehicle travelling southbound on William Street ran a red light and smashed into a vehicle making a legal left turn off of Heath Street onto William Street.
Both drivers were taken to hospital with unknown injuries. Their vehicles also required tows from the scene.
The 23 year old man from Colborne, who ran the red light, has been charged.
The ticket for failing to stop for a red light is now $325.00.
Sometime between August 13 and 16, an unknown person through a rock at a large window causing it to smash, in a new condominium on University Avenue East.
The building was under construction at the time and the double-thermal glass picture window will cost $2,500.00 to replace.
