What do you need to apply?

Applicant must attend in person with two pieces of identification. One piece of identification must be photo (Example: Driver's Licence).

How much does it cost to have a Criminal Information Request (Criminal Record Check)?

For applicants who reside within the Town of Cobourg:

Volunteers - $5.00 plus applicable taxes
Students (Under 18) - $5.00 plus applicable taxes
Employment - $25.00 plus applicable taxes

For applicants who reside outside the Town of Cobourg:

Volunteers - $15.00 plus applicable taxes
Students (Under 18) - $15.00 plus applicable taxes
Employment - $40.00 plus applicable taxes

How long does it take to process a record check?

If you have resided in the Town of Cobourg during the last five (5) years - 3-5 business days.

If you have resided outside of the Town of Cobourg during the last five (5) years - Approximately 5 business days.

How do I get my completed record check?

If you checked off the "mail" option, the completed request will be mailed to the address given on the form.

For pickup you will receive a telephone call once your record check is completed and you must attend in person to pick it up. You will be required to show proper identification.

The check will be kept on file for thirty (30) days. If it is not claimed within this time period it will be destroyed.
