How much does it cost to have a Criminal Information Request (Criminal Record Check)?
For applicants who reside within
the Town of Cobourg:
Volunteers
- $10.00 plus applicable taxes Students
(Under 18) - $10.00 plus applicable taxes Other
- $30.00 plus applicable taxes
For
applicants who reside outside the Town of Cobourg:
Volunteers
- $20.00 plus applicable taxes Students
(Under 18) - $20.00 plus applicable taxes Other
- $45.00 plus applicable taxes
How long does it take
to process a record check?
Criminal Record checks take a approximately 5-10 business days to complete.
You will be notified when it is ready.
Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) can only be conducted if you reside within the Town of Cobourg.
If you require a VSS you must attend the police service where you reside.
How do I get my completed
record check?
If you checked off the "mail" option, the
completed request will be mailed to the address given
on the form.
-Or-
For pickup you will receive a telephone call once your
record check is completed and you must attend in person
to pick it up. You will be required to show proper identification.
The check will be kept on file for thirty (30) days.
If it is not claimed within this time period it will
be destroyed.
